Salt & Pepper Solutions

React Native

04/2022 - 06/2024

Maintained an app in production with over 10K downloads on Android and iOS and a 4.8 star average rating in each store. Played a key role as a team member on two React Native MVPs. Worked on almost every aspect of these projects, creating layouts, managing state with Redux Tookit, and implementing React Navigation. Gained experience releasing test builds for Android and iOS. Given the small team on one project, prioritized tasks and provided guidance to an intern in the absence of a tech lead. Used TypeScript and wrote unit tests with Jest for all projects.

Mobius Innovations

React & React Native

04/2023 - 09/2023

Built an admin dashboard with React and MUI for a US-based start-up in the health and wellness industry. Worked independently, planning and organizing the project from the very beginning with minimal guidance. Set up the state management with Redux and implemented an API service for network requests. Completed feature work on the React Native app in order to help the team meet deadlines. Leaned on my experience using the React Native CLI to solve Android specific build issues that would have delayed the project.

Previous Experience

Professional Developer Since 2020

Core Tech Skills: React Native, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Redux

Soft Skills: Critical thinking, teamwork, planning and organizing, managing client relationships

Prior to becoming a developer, I cultivated a broad range of transferrable skills such as critical thinking, structured analysis, teamwork, planning and organizing, and working within multi-cultural teams. I cultivated these skills over nearly 20 years during which I served as a U.S. Army officer, worked as an analyst, and worked as a civilian contractor with the U.S. Department of Defense and Department of the Army.

I planned and organized a training deployment of over 100 soldiers and $25 Million of equipment as the second-in-command of an infantry company. In this role, I allocated resources and planned the logistics for training exercises on a regular basis. As a platoon leader, I led 35 soldiers, bringing together a highly diverse group to work as a cohesive team.

As a contractor I excelled at forging relationships with client organizations in every role I held. This success rested upon my communication skills, especially listening skills, so I could understand each client organization’s needs and tailor my work accordingly.
